Public Space Colonization: Another Reflection

After the first two reflections in this week Mayor third thought comes to me when I see how, in two different situations, colonizes the private sector, privatizing the public space in the absence of an authority or a citizen complaint .

The Interior Boulevard called Juan Dolio we are a business as Olympic cafeteria takes as his newly constructed sidewalk by the Ministry of Tourism to take the limit of their " terrace "almost to the street because the sidewalk the pedestrian loses to be furnished with gardening pots for business and also lost the sidewalk as it becomes parking, two things that make the pedestrian must travel on the street exposing it to unnecessary dangers.

After the beach we found that administration of Guavaberry Beach Club had arranged, which wall, a barrier of chairs, thus limiting the ability of any mortal who is not a category of "partner" may have a space that is public by law. Certainly, and that I would argue, this exclusive club has cleaned the beach front, yes, providing stones collected on the site next door-but this action must be considered, and so should establish some rules and municipal tourism as one of the contributions that should do business with privileged situations, or practice what is euphemistically is called between the progressive employers' corporate social responsibility. "

Two situations that limit the freedom of citizens to use public space.
